Pfaff or Bernina?

I only know the names of the high-end because my mother has several of those things around -- I joke with her that my commuter car costs less than her sewing machine.  It's actually not much of a joke...   :-\

Cheers, John

It was something like Chessie ;D that is why she has the one she has now lol it's is a Bernina but the computer has gone bad and like a old Detroit finding a shop to check it just happen to be in Texas 1500 miles to get a sewing worked on geezz

I'll probably lose the battle and war on this one but I am trying, I had no idea a sewing machine could cost so much that is the price of a rebuilt 8v92 not a item you carry in a case and  it doesn't burn diesel or leak oil no fun at all

Cliff,

I just absentmindedly read my wife that post and she says "What sewing machine?  I want one!"

Just passed by your house.  In Grand Canyon tomorrow and then back down to Sedona.  If you want to hang out let me know.  We could swing by on our way to Vegas.  I left you a message on your home phone.  Give me a call (407) Five Nine Two-33 Four 7

-Sean

PS - Is it a 6 cylinder or 8 Cylinder machine?

I just bought my wife a new machine to go with the 6 or 7 that are already in the basement, including professional model and overlock machines. The claim is she is teaching the granddaughter to sew.   ;D

Clifford

I totally understand.  the last new dirt bike I bought cost close to $8,000.

The next day I saw a new Berinna sewing machine come into the house.

Cost more than the bike.

Could not say a thing  just suck it up and go.

The things we put up with to stay with a woman.

She ought to be able to make you a really nice bus cover and wheel covers for 19 grand!  Just sayin...

I remember when my mother would try to sew with hers. It was always the same. She'd start out all happy and within about half an hour, I was
learning all kinds of new words.

My wife's works about as well as my Mother's did. I don't tend to interfere much because I figure the frustration level keeps her from getting too
interested in sewing, hence saving me big bucks for a nicer machine.  ::)

Her Bernina is going back to Sweden for repairs a new computer and screen seems like the Swede's take pride in service and what they make, 500 bucks for parts, labor, shipping and all the new upgrades I can live with that ;D now if the 30 minute call doesn't cost me a small fortune

Matt women that have used those sewing machines are not going back to the older machines they like putting a button on a screen and the thing will read it and sew it on then they have the embroidering feature that mine just loves, they are nice but way overpriced IMO

And to think my grandmother's machine had a treadle to power it and it worked just fine for her.  ;D
