Title: PD 4106 brake valves

For PD4106 1964 gmc What valves should I get to replace....

treadle valve or foot valve or brake application valve?

rear brake valve or R12?

   The treadle valve SHOULD have a Bendix part number tag on it. I found a new one on Ebay, although most replacements are rebuilt and still should be ok. Check the other components for tags also. You can get repair kits for them also, if you are into rebuilding.

Rebuilding is easy.  If the valves are old, it is a good idea to just go through and replace them as you have time for it.  A lot of air leaks will be solved by replacing tired valves.

The original "Hound" treadle valve was set for 65% at full application, (after all you can't disturb the passengers!!) You can change it to a 100% application and at least in an emergency you have ALL there is available.>>>Dan
