I have a delco 50 dn gen for a 4106 that I am selling to a friend ...works good ..what would be a fair price ??
There are many many of these dinosours laying around,, $100.00 would be fair for all.>>>Dan (If you have one you probably have no use for it, the other side of the sword, is if you need one the alternatives are many)
The shop I work with gets 300 for a core.

Depends on how good a friend he is, and the shape of the unit. Works good but needs a rebuild - $300 is what I would charge. Rebuilt in your memory and completely trouble free - $500. Rebuilt last year and never used because it's a spare - $750. What I would charge a friend - could be free if he promises to plow my driveway next year... I am SO tired of snow...

I got a rebuilt one a few years ago for a D3: $1200, or was it $1500? That was a belt driven, oil cooled on a Series 60.

My gear driven 50DN exchanged for a rebuilt with new digital regulator was $1,500.00. Good Luck, TomC
For a good friend? probably a big burger at Carls Jr, just sayin! ;) ;D
EDIT- Oh don't forget the Fries lol
If you check Ebay, you will see several for sale in various conditions. The rebuilts seem to range from $850. from Kirks on up. Used would be less of course. I sold an old rebuilt one a while back for $300. to someone on the board. If the one you have is used, it may be a good idea for your friend to have it tested and even rebuilt before installing it.
A core charge is probably tops for a used vintage model 50D from a 4106
