Hi Grant,  We allready have a converted Scenicruiser.   Not as practicle as some buses, but we wouldn't trade it.

If you're under 6ft, then it works. I did the transit since it is 102" wide, 6'10" inside, and cheap to buy. Granted the PD4501 is a classic, but can't quite imagine the problems with keeping such a rare bird running. Good Luck, TomC

Hi Tom,  We have had our share of problems, but well worth the effort.  We've had the Scenicruiser around 15 years now, and as long as you consider every trip an adventure, it is a blast and for the most part she has been very reliable.  We are about to do a repower and fix a few other minor issues, so she can keep up with other traffic on the hills, even towing a trailer.
I am 5-10 bye the way  ;D
Cheers,
Dave

Dave-what are you going to repower it with? Hopefully a good 4 stroke engine. A Cummins ISM rebuilt to RV 500hp with Allison B500 would be my choice. Good Luck, TomC

Hi Tom,  Nothing that exotic, I personally love the sound of the old 2 strokes, and feel they suite the character of the bus better.  So we decided to go with an 8V92 and I bought an old 5 star general truck just before Christmas with a rebuilt motor.  But as I was looking for the rest of the parts to mate it to an HT750 I have, plus a new rad, trans cooler, etc, etc.  BK on the other board offered me a deal on an 89 Setra he has with an 475hp 8V92 DDEC II motor and HT748 trans, plus it will have everything else I need to do the re-power.  He is working on getting the bus ready for me to hopefully pick up at the end of the month.
Cheers,
Dave
