Hey gang, Hadn't been around in a while...Sold bus #11 my F3500 almost 2 years ago and thought my bus days were over. The motorhome world has not equaled a bus and I knew it never would. Considering going back to an older C3. Looking at one with L10 Cummins with 5sp manual. Anybody got one? Think I could get 10mpg with the sticK.
Also been offered a 102D with a a Cat and B500 at a good price.
I would look at the D first. Later model. The automatic will be a lot nicer to drive than the 5 speed in the C. I don't think you will get 10 mpg with either of them.

Sent you a PM.
Cheers, John
The Allison equipped bus is SO much nicer to drive (I drove 1.3 million miles with a 13spd), I would never consider a manual. If a bus had a 10 or 13spd, then maybe, but a 4 or 5 spd just isn't enough gears to be able to do what you would do in a motorhome. With at least a 7spd, you'll have a low enough gear to maneuver around the campsite, or start on a steep grade. Believe me when I say, when you experience an Allison, you'll never go back to a stick-even with it's lower fuel mileage. Good Luck, TomC
