I know I'm not the only person that gets sick when they see a bus get scrapped. Well it has been slow agony to watch this small lot with 8 old Flxible's slowly get scrapped. (Few were gmc's) went for a close up today and now kids are hitting out the windows. All the buses were still full of seats and not bad, although in need or repair. Ah, if only we could save them all. Few pictures for those that feel my pain. :) Cheers and Happy Weekend, First pic is the lot about a year ago, today only 3 buses remain
Sorry one more.
Where is this?
Drives me crazy too. On my school bus route I pass 2 yards full of buses. 1 is full of old crowns and the are vandalized weekly. The other has a caretaker but it has about 100 retired buses of every kind.

This is New Orleans near the intercostal canal. I love the old crown school buses but those are even more vulnerable to scrapping because they are so heavy. There are 2 things in a scrap yard that kill me, buses and firetrucks.
I'd love 2 find a yard with a 4106 for good luggage bays without creases for my 4106 not any around my parts . Maybe it wouldn't save the busses but parts would live on before scrapping! But at least ours live on

I agree =) I have never even seen another 4106 in person as I purchased the one I got off of eBay. Here is a website with the complete baggage doors for $150. You can just buy the lower skin but often it's not the same thickness so I was told they look different unless you paint. I will let you know if I find more then I need. Cheers
