Looks like you had one hell of a journey, however its good to hear that your not alone, and there are good folks out there, to help you on your way. ;)
good job! Just started 2nd part and saw your sand crawler picture--sure looked like the milling machines I ran on road surfaces.. They can do some serious damage!! Load a tri-axle in a few minutes. When is the return trip? Still crap in SW Ind. 1 Inch of ice on drive for last week..
We're back. Just haven't put text and pix together yet. Very cold here - zero tonight. Well over 30" of snow on the ground.
Good read! Glad you made it home to the frozen tundra safely!
;D BK ;D
Good read Gordie glad you 2 are home when owning a old bus one will give out sometimes but he never gives up on the journey
I feel bad I told you to push on to Albuquerque and cost you the extra wrecker fee that cost you,one thing good is you will have a life long friend with Jones he never forgets people
good luck
No big deal. It was worth the help I got from Larry. Sorry now that we didn't come back via I-40 and hook up with you guys. It's zero again this morning.
Really enjoy your style of writing and your blog, Gordie. Your maiden voyage sounds like the maiden voyage of my Silverside, smoke fire, ice and all. Oh, you gotta love old GM's! Down the road, your trip story will be spun around the campfire many times, lol.
Thank you. Great look'n bus!!

;)
My girlfriend and I enjoyed your travel story very much.
Treeplanter,
Thanks!
Gordie,
Glad to see you survived your trip with only a few minor glitches along the way. Maybe next time you work your way west we will get a chance to meet. Thanks to your lil trip I am going to upgrade the tools to carry along in my 04. Question should I tow the forklift as a toad or just slide it into the storage bay sideways?

Goodie, just wanted to thank you for documenting your travels. I liked the part where you said what was I thinking buying a 57 year old bus and expecting it to travel across the country. =) I have wondered that question with my 4106. Happy travels

Glad you made it back to the land of ice and snow without further incident.
Also glad we had the opportunity to chat in person for awhile, albeit a short while.
And thanks for the dashboard, too!
For those who haven't seen the interior of Gordie's coach, it looks a lot "neater" in person than the pics he's posted depict. Really nice work, with unique materials, too. Loved the creativity.
FWIW & HTH. . .
;)
