Title: airline of compresser
Post by: Nineforever on February 10, 2014, 05:10:28 PM
I have a problem ... the supply line comming of the compresser on a 892 detroit ... i need to replace problem is there is no room to get a wrench in there to take of the line on the compresser side any one else had the same situation ... i can see if i loosen the compresser and slide back a bit i could probably get an open end on it .. but that means a new gasket on the compresser ... is that the only option .
Thanks
Dave

You can even try a plumbers basin wrench. Good Luck, TomC

In case you aren't sure what Luvrbus is referring to:http://www.sears.com/craftsman-10-pc-fractional-crowfoot-flare-nut-wrench/p-00942049000P

I'm not sure what size you need; if larger than 1 inch, you may need to flag down a Snap-on dealer, although one piece from them may cost as much as this whole set. Also Harbor Freight carry them. Everyone should have a set of these. Do not try to use the open straight style, as they will try to round off the hex corners. Use only the tubing type.
