Title: Block Heater noise (Buzzing sound)
Post by: 5B Steve on January 23, 2014, 02:40:39 PM

I just noticed this noise, it's never done this. The sound is coming from the left thermostat. Unpluged it and the

sound stopped. What's going on here?

Normal sound for a water jacket heater, sounds like coffee perking.
Being in the emergency generator business, we have many/hundreds of units with the block heater and every so often we get a call reporting a strange noise comng from the generator described as a coffee pot sound, you just have to laugh some times.

That is how i make sure mine is working. Plug it in and then go listen for it to come on.

George, If you are saying that the block heater has a cord that you just plug into a socket, that is pretty standard.  I have a portable timer that I use with it since I am likely to forget to unplug it.
