Hi All,
Been lurking, don't have a bus yet, will do a formal introduction when I buy one.
I looked at PD4104-4188 this weekend. Just wondering what the commercial history of this bus is (thanks in advance, RJ!).
Siberyd, this bus is sitting in a field near Bellingham, WA. It's pretty much intact at this point, but I'm not sure if it would run and drive anymore (it was towed to it's present location).

[Edit: wanted to add that this is an older conversion, in rough shape inside ]
Doug -
PD4104-4188 was delivered new in April of 1959 as fleet number 508 to Vancouver Island Coach Lines, HQ'd in Victoria, BC, Canada. It was delivered thru GMC's Canadian Division.

I got an email from the owner of this coach. He said the engine had been rebuilt and was towed from Canada where it was previously registered. His asking price is a lil less than scrap value for CA prices.
It might be a good deal if you are mechanically inclned. Vancouver took great care of their coaches. There are currently 4 or 5. 4104 buses still on the island as converted coaches. All from the same heritage.

That must have been one of the last ones built.
No, I have #4850.

Gus -The last 4104 built was delivered thru GM Overseas Operations to Autobuses Anahuac in Mexico. It's VIN was PD4104-5065.
Ted -In case you don't know already, PD4104-4850 was delivered new as fleet number E-3292 in June of 1960 to Eastern Greyhound Lines, HQ'd in Cleveland, OH. So you can honestly tell folk you own/drive a "Jen-U-Wine Retired Greyhound Bus!"

I wonder who here has the latest one built?
Gus,
4104-5065 was sold to Mexico, unknown company. In the early 70's most the remaining 04's in service were sent to Costa Rica and South America. I know of 2 conversions in Mexico, but they are earlier models.
0001 & 0002 Went out of country. The oldest on my list is 0008. Got that one memorized. Youngest, will have to double check, but it is 5xxx.
