Title: OT- Hello everyone!
Post by: Busted Knuckle on December 05, 2006, 07:39:12 PM
Hey everybody. I just thought I'd say hello, and let ya'l know I'm still around! Been a rough couple of weeks, I sold my Setra around thanksgiving & we just buried my Granddaddy today! "Pap was '87 yrs old and until just recently as healthy as a horse all his life, always cheerful and one of the most common remarks I remember him stating regularly was ya only as young as ya feel!" Well I just wish I was even close to being in as goda shape as "Pap" was when he was my age! I just hope as rough as I feel most days, I don't last as long as he did! He led a good life and raised 6 boys and helped raisle 11 of us Grandkids with me "Charlie Brown" the oldest grandson! Will sure miss "Pap" but I'm glad he's gone to a better place and I'm sure first thing he heard yesterday morning (when he passed) was probably "well it's about time!" (grandma pasted away LAST APRIL, and none of us thought he'd live this long with his broken heart. But he was a tough old bird, and now they are back together again! Talk to ya'll soon!  BK   ;D

BK,

Very sorry to hear of your loss. It's a tough one, but like you said, it sounds like he led a great life. Definitely set the sights high for you to follow.

Take care. We're here for you.

BK

A long-time friend of mine told me that after he lost his dad, "you don't get over it, but you do learn to live with it".  We're thinking about you.

Hey BK,

Really sorry to here about the passing of your Grandpa Pap.

Especially for you, I am sure you are going to miss him greatly.

I can also see from your post that you believe, like many, that this is a new beginning for Pap.

I'll bet he did.

God bless you and your family

BK,
Sorry to hear of your loss. We will keep you and your family in our prayers.  We buried a close frined last week-end (she was 59 years old) and after the service the minister was talking to her husband and I. The minister told us "It will never be the same, it won't get better, but it will get easier".   Our thoughts are with you.  Jack

Bryce,
Our prayers and condolences are with you and your family.

I lost my grampa when I was 6. Funny thing though, I can still see him in my minds eye, watching him play the old guitar and sing.

I guess I'm lucky, for me, he never changes or gets older.

Bryce,

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your grandpa, think about the memories you have of him and lean on them as they are a part of what he left you and are apart of what makes you what you are today. I know you are very proud of him and I am proud to call you my friend. God bless you and your family during this time of loss.

"You never get over it, you just learn to live with it" - truer words were never spoken.

I lost Maternal Grampa when I was 19, Paternal Grampa when I was 29, Dad when I was 32.  It's been 7 years now since Dad moved on, and to this day I occasionally will have some event or accomplishment happen in my life and my first thought, for just a second, is "Wait 'til Dad sees/hears about this".  Then I remember that Dad isn't with us anymore and I'm struck with the sorrow again.

It really doesn't get easier, but maybe it does get a little better.  I'm sorry for your loss, and still I can say congratulations on a good long run by a cool guy.

You'll see him again soon, but don't make it too soon.

Onward and Upward?

Casper

Bryce no truer words were ever spoken than you never get over it but you learn to live with it.  You and your family have our deepest sympathy during this holiday season.  My wife and I can relate to sorrow and sadness that your family is going through as we lost our son in an auto accident 19 years ago and as others have said it does get easier as time passes but we think of him daily.

Bryce,

Sorry to hear about your loss.

It is never easy to go through what you are going through.

At least cherish the memories, remember him sharing his life with family and friends.

When I lost my Mom's Dad I was devistated. I wear his wedding band and think of him every day.

Regards,

Paul and Becky
