Title: Looking for an Allison 740...
Post by: 4onFloor on October 03, 2013, 08:53:41 AM
Since I'm on a roll with getting a new starter, and fuel issues fixed... Let's keep going!  If anyone knows where I can find an Allison HT740 in Texas, I'd be interested in hearing about it (price would be helpful too). I've got my favorite mechanic lined up and ready to lend a big hand...  It's going in a MCI MC7, so I'm going to need a shifter cable and T handle if one is out there too... Let the search begin!
Thanks All.

Go big or go home, unless your home is a bus... It's big and you're at home... So never mind.

There was one on Ebay being sold by what sounded like Mike from BCM's past. Probably in California.

I have one still in an '85 MCI 96A3 w/blown engine! You can have everything you need off it.
Price negotiable especially if yer able to assist in removal of the parts you need!

Make offer!

B_K, I sent you a PM.

Scanzel, I believe the transmission you're talking about PMed me already, it's in Bakersfield.  It's certainly an option, and if I can't find one here in Tx, it may be a viable option... Thanks for the tip though.

If you need to buy the flexplate new it will cost more than a used transmission for a 8v71 fwiw do the home work and get all the parts and always have a used 740 put on dyno the best 200 bucks you can spend

good luck

John, Where are you located? I'm close to San Antonio on I-35. I also have a 740 but it's set up for an 8-92. I have a 68 MC-7 that I'm going to be parting out if you need something from the exterior. I also have the trans cable that you can have if you need it.
