Title: M*A*S*H TV show bus
Post by: CrabbyMilton on September 25, 2013, 03:46:05 AM
I didn't want to hijack the thread about the tripple decker bus so I started this one. I have always wondered if anyone knew what happened to the skoolie that was seen in several episodes of MASH. The body was built on a early 1950's FORD chassis with a 6 cylinder engine given that there was not V8 badge on the front rather, a star like badge that would indicate a six. I couldn't find any info on it. I'm sure there are many remakes of that bus but I just would like to know if that first bus was saved or could it just be parked behind a building someplace.

Hawkeye and Trapper (although a bit older)  are probably in the back of the bus with Nurse Hoolihan on the Univerasal Lot!!

Actually, it was a 20th CENTURY FOX studio production not UNIVERSAL but perhaps it's at the FOX lot as you said.
Comon now, Hawkeye and Trapper behaving that way? :) They actually left it open whether toward the end if Hawkeye and Margaret were going to have a relationship after the war.
I could watch every episode any number of times and still never tire of that show.

Some people don't realize that the outdoor location is now a CA. state park. Malibu Creek State Park specifically. In the last few years, some fan group restored that area since it had grown over with brush. Since the show ended, there was a rusted out jeep and ambulance(but no bus) :(. You can do a satellite photo search and see it.

At the end of MASH, the brush fire was the Malibu fire for real. Good Luck, TomC

Now I really wonder. Thanks to Len, we can see some lighter color paint. So I sort of doubt that it was used by the military in real life.

Hi All, you can actually stay at a CA state park nearby, Malibu state park $35, no bigger than 35', no services, Las Virgenes Rd off the 101 Ventura Fwy, go west 2 or 3 miles on your right, many western movies were also shot there, lvmci...
