I just got back this morning from a trip to Reno, Nevada to launch rockets. No issues with the bus itself at all this time. I'm still having brush issues with the generator which cost me 6 to 8 hours of time getting that up and running. Luckily I had a spare brush assembly.
Weather at the launch site out in the desert was lousy most of the three launch days. Windy on Friday and cloudy and rainy Saturday. Sunday was still somewhat windy, but many rockets were launched as it was the last day.

Nice - always good to hear positive news! BH NC USA
Look into having the alternator head changed to brushless. I have 1200hrs on my Powertech 10kw with zero problems. Good Luck, TomC
From reading about the brush issues, I checked my 10kw Powertech......whew!, it's brushless.
I have the Ultimate series 8KW Powertech generator. It is enclosed in a sound enclosure from the factory sort of like the Onan Quiet Diesel generators. It has a Marathon pancake generator head. Everyone has told me a brushless head will not fit inside the enclosure. I need to pull the enclosure apart to get the exact part number off the generator head to see if there is a replacement brushless head that will fit.
It looks like Powertech makes all of their Ultimate Series generators with brush type heads even up to 12KW. I've considered just selling this generator and getting a different generator from Wrico or someone else.
