Since we picked up the 5b last year the tach only worked part of the time and NEVER when I wanted to do something like check shift points.
Hard to wiggle wires on the engine and watch tach. Had wife watch tach while I spun the sending unit with a drill. Working - not working -working.
Pulled sending unit out and took it to the shop. Could not get consistent reading with an ohm meter. Upon closer inspection of the solderless connectors, they were BOTH crimped on the insulation!
