16V92 making 4500 HP at 3500 rpm
Can't say how long it would last in a bus but in the mean time look out.

I do believe this guy has HUGGY beat in the black smoke catagory
uncle ned
What? No Jakes? Lame. lol
Proof positive how bullet proof reliable the Allison HT740 is. All that black smoke is wasted fuel-or potential horsepower. Need bigger, or higher boost. Good Luck, TomC
That looks like my bus from behind ::)
4 turbos and 2 blowers that is a lot of air lol
Scott I think we are running the same engine. they just put yours in wrong..
you coming to the tenn rally and help me kill mosquitos
Uncle ned
Yes Im thinking yours is the one put in wrong! What to settle it by a bus drag race ;D
I am prejudiced, but the ultimate land speed truck was the Phoenix. It set the unlimited record at 272.685 in 2003 and the record still stands.
I put a tribute page together about that truck and the amazing/fun folks involved:

I got to know the folks pretty well. Indeed, the owner of the push truck I document gave me a very detailed lesson on running the rack right on the salt!!!

Did anyone else notice how much the hood of the truck deflected and deformed under the wind pressure? You can see it letting up after he pulls the chute and slows down!!! Wowzers..

Hey Ned,
You have the smoke right, you just need Ken to set the carburetors! Huggy can keep up with that guy.
They are based in my home town, a few years ago they were running four 8v92s. Now they are down to two. Good Bus'n Wilbur
