In the spirit of not doing anything, before I check the feedback on this board - first: Is Prevost the best source of drivers side windshield for my 79 LaMirage?

By driver's side windshield I am guessing you mean the windshield and not a side window.
If you go to the Prevost Car site they often lists specials. I have bought windshields for around $130 and that includes the freight to my door. Tough to beat.
What Jon said. A couple of years ago I had a pair of windshields shipped to the middle of nowhere (northern Saskatchewan). They gave me a price FOB my doorstep before they ever asked where they would be shipping to and the price was way lower than I expected - maybe 300 bux for the pair. I've had issues with Prevost Parts shipping to the wrong location but I have never felt they overcharged for their parts - quite the contrary in most cases. If I've got time to order the parts ahead they are my first call every time.
I'm not 100% sure about the 1979 vintage but for an XL series coach your driver and passenger glass is likely identical.
Aftermarket sources are: Curved Glass in CT; and Coach Glass in OR. Both should stock them but I think it would be hard to beat Prevost Parts.
On XL Prevost coaches the left and right windshields are interchangeable. 30 minutes out and in. No so on the XLII.
Chuck,
Check with JD at C&J coach in Mpls. He may have them in stock. If not, he'll probably know a local supplier.
Rick
On the 96 wide coaches the windshields are the same as a gmc 4905. I replaced both of mine and that's what they are. Kent
AND...4104, 4106,07,08,4903,H8M/H8H649, and from what I've heard, those curved Prevost side windows.
Prevost will probably have the best price if not check with Coach Glass they have 4 different locations in the US, Elkhart IN is the closet to you

Yup, same glass, but much, much darker tint. NG for windshields, sadly.
