Title: Anyone up for helping me check out a bus near Sacramento, CA
Post by: Geom on June 30, 2013, 10:20:48 AM
Hello,

We'd like to check and see who might live near the Sacramento area that would be willing to meet me there to check out a bus.

We're looking at a GM 4107.

Not neccessarily looking for a "mechanic" to look at it (although that would be HUGELY useful) but someone who is experienced and comfortable with GM buses and bus conversions in general, and has an eye for things to be on the lookout for.

Please either PM me or post info here so I can reach out to you by phone.

Thanks all again,
George

If you are looking at Don and Cary's 4107 just buy it they are not going to play games with you

What does "not play games with you (me)", mean??
I'm not sure how to interpret that...

They will tell you the truth and not hide anything from you and I personally don't care how you interpret it JMW

I think it would be hugely useful to you to have someone along who knows buses and RV's, but who has not seen this particular bus before.

This fresh set of eyes will be able to help ask questions that you would never think to ask on your own, and which the owners (even if they are being completely open and honest) might not think to proactively share.

You don't necessarily need a mechanic or an inspector or to approach this in adversarial fashion.  You are out to learn as much as you can as quickly as you can, and it is invaluable to have someone who can offer a non-novices perspective to help you learn as you look.

Good luck tracking someone down!

Thanks Chris, that's exactly what I was thinking.

I need someone who's comfortable with buses and bus systems, preferably bought one before, and can share thoughts on what to look for.

We will be looking at a few of them and the more info I can gather the better.
