Title: Pair of GM PD4106s Available - Redkey, IN ($5K for both)
Post by: bkelly1011 on June 21, 2013, 01:16:04 PM
All,

Found a posting on the GM parlor coach Facebook group - two PD4106 coaches are available; no connection, just passing this on...

From the posting:
There is a local man who owns 2 PD 4106s. Both run and drive and one was being converted and the other was for parts. He is forced to sell both and is asking $5000 for the pair. Otherwise they are going to the scrapyard. I can get photos and more information if anyone is interested. They are located in east-central Indiana near the Ohio border. This is the parts coach: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=406326312761213&set=pb.406298456097332.-2207520000.1371827365.&type=3&theater (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=406326312761213&set=pb.406298456097332.-2207520000.1371827365.&type=3&theater)

More info:
The owner is Jim Lucas of Overdrive Transmission in Redkey, IN. I believe they are both around 1963 models. If you could post this on the other board that would be great! I hate to see them scrapped but he needs to get rid of them. His number is 765-369-2616.

I have attached a picture of the parts coach, which finished life as a church bus and is evidently *not* the conversion.  This is the only picture I have.

Thanks,
Brad

Turn signal lenses are impossible to get. He needs to salvage the good stuff before scrapping.

I have been looking also (not too hard though, and unless one were to land in my lap, I am not going to spend the money on it.). The only problem is that all the good ones I have found have been attached to nice buses. Mine has a one layer crack so it is working. Finding a rear gasket for it is a challenge, but one can be fabricated to work. I did buy a plexiglass 4106 GM set that is in storage at the moment, it is green, rare, and a bit odd looking though. I am waiting for the original glass or gasket to fail. My father owns a fiberglass mold to make a rear OEM look cap for the 4106 that includes the glass and gasket. Same great look, but you couldn't see out of it.
