Title: MC-5A Ride height
Post by: FolkBus on June 19, 2013, 03:18:59 PM
Hi all

My MC-5a has a list to starboard. What I'm not sure of is if the port side is too high (overinflated) or the starboard is low.  What is the correct height (ground to body floor)??  I don't want to start adjusting with out the correct information.

Thanks

I do not have my book handy but aside from measuring the ride height from the ground, it may be better to measure it from the airbag inflation.  I forget the exact numbers but the front bags should be the same since they are on the same valve.  The rear bags, although on separate valves should also be the same-- say about 7 inches including the plates.  Get the rear bags even by adjusting the linkage to the valves.  If there is any play in the linkage, that should be fixed or replaced.  A turn buckle with some lock nuts will work fine.

I scanned the entire section but the 2 diagrams showing how to measure ride hieght will probably serve you best. Consider that on an RV application the adjustable ride height may not be necessary.

I removed the adjustable height and put manual guages up front. I can set them to exactly the correct pressure to keep my coach measurements perfect. Slight adjustment for fuel that is probably not a big deal. The best part is that for all of you that are level freaks, you can adjust the air pressure from the Helm just like a fancy pants Prevost Marathon coach :)

To get the pdf, please send a PM and give me your email. Unless there is a resource section???
