I truly love firing the bus up for the first time in the spring! I just finished replacing all of the O-rings in the injector fuel pipes, replacing the jake brake wiring harnesses, changing the oil and filter, and firing it up. What a hoot! I had pulled the exhaust system off so I could get access to the heads, turbo piping was off, but I cranked it with fuel off to get oil pressure, and then with fuel on, it fired on the second rotation of the engine and settled down to an instant smooth idle, no smoke, just smooth Detroit happiness. Valve covers were still off, I watched for a while to see if I could see any fuel leakage (none seen, may be good to go), I just love firing it up for the first time. Buttoned it all up, pulled it out of the barn, and I will let it sit in the sunshine for a while!
