Title: Steering box leak - fixed
Post by: Mike in GA on April 24, 2013, 05:56:34 PM
I had noticed that I was losing oil out of my power steering system from the front of the bus. I had especially big losses when parked downhill. Pulled the spare tire and climbed into the front compartment. Oil everywhere. Cleaned it all up and tried to find the leak. Started the engine and had the wife turn the wheel to put pressure on the system - no leak. A fellow bus nut, Tom Hamrick, showed me his recently fixed steering box, and I noticed a little rubber plug on the side. Mine only had a hole. Missing plug!
A call to Luke at US Coach was all it took. He found me a replacement from his bone yard, and a few days later I was back in business.
What a resource we all have in Mr Bonagura! Thanks Luke.
