Hi Clifford, do you any info about exxon/mobil XD-3, is seems to be the delvac you talk about, that I cant find in LV, lvmci...
Never used it Tom but that is Don Fairchild's preferred oil for the older 2 cycles or 2 strokes,FWIW I read where Exxon stop making the 40w XD-3 about 3 months ago
good luck
Thanks, dont know why Im having such a hard time finding anything but conoco 76 oil, which now over 1.0 on the ash contennt, I did find a different o'Rielys that can get delo100, but not in stock, lvmci...
We used and had no problems with XD-3 for a long time.
But it suddenly became "unavailable" from our distributor. (I was buying it in 55 gallon drums)
Also about that time we went from running 4-5 two strokes to running all 60 series and only having one "back up" unit that still had an 8V92.
So our need for straight 40W with the low ash content drastically reduced.
We now just get Delvac 15W40 from Walmart.
;D BK ;D
Must be old stock Tom the EPA does not allow over 1% ash in any C-Rated oil now days besides even it has over 1 % ash it's not going to hurt the engine with the new fuel it burns so clean .
I use Delo 400 in the wife's RV it has .5 ash content fwiw back in the days when they made #1 fuel we would have to use a oil with 1.24 ash content to make the TBA numbers jive we live in a changing world
Read the jug if says approved for MTU 2 engines like the Delo 40 w 400 you will be fine
This oil deal here is like a Zebra it is white with black stripes or it is black with white stripes
good luck
Thanks so much, lvmci...
That's a good one, Cliff! I agree with you.

Exon/ Mobil is making Delvac 1240 straight 30 or 40 wt.oil again.I just got 6 cases a while back.
They never stopped with the Delvac Exxon is no longer branding or making the XD-3 I read
Wondering if the old Mil Spec 4104B (Think That was the number) still used or. Is there a new Mil Spec for our DDC MTU babes ?
Dave M
They have a new spec Dave Mil-2104-D
What size oil do I need and do they make left handed for the GM transits even though I don't have one? :o
Dave5Cs
Really doesn't matter what oil you use in GM Dave the engine is setting cross ways, turning to the left and laying on it's side the oil is at a complete loss on which way to flow just joking Mikey
Hi, stopped at a different o'rielys on way home from work, asked if they could order mobil delvac 40w, the kid tried every which way & can't get it, but they can order delo 100 in 5 gallon or 1 gallon as has been mentioned (even tho this same store said it couldn't get it before), the 5 gallon drum worked out to $15 more than 5 individual gallon bottles! He was surprised, lvmci...
Good one Clifford!!! i like that. ;D
