Is anybody hauling their motorcycle in a baggage bay?
I just bought an old 1983 honda cx650 custom, and this is what I want to do, but haven't done all the engineering yet. I am thinking I can lay it over on some type of support, and then slide it in the bay.
Any and all thoughts are appreciated!

Besides the obvious of spilt gas, would the crankcase oil possible fill up the cylinder (leak past rings) or leak out the intake (depending where pistons are sitting)

Once the "leak" issues are covered I don't see why it couldn't be strapped down on a sliding tray (like a "Joey bed" or such) and slid in and out of the bay.
It wouldn't be my first choice method of hauling it but it could work.
If I did take that route I'd figure out a method of draining/siphoning almost all the gas out of it and have a permanent padded jig to strap it to.
Preferably one that kept it up at somewhat of an angle, not flat!

I think with my tall bays, I can get away with a 30-45 degree angle, but won't be sure until I do the Autocad drawing.
I can haul my one cycle straight up in my bay. Honda Trail 70 clone.
If you start with the right bus, you can carry basic, unfaired motorcycles straight up. Several coaches have bays tall enough to do this, including some Van Hool and Setra models, and Scenicruisers.
Our Neoplan has room for two full-size motorcycles side-by-side in one of the bays. We had a pair of Suzuki SV650's in there for a few years until we downsized to step-throughs for convenience. Several Harley models would also fit. In fact, the main reason we chose this bus in the first place was that we could put motorcycles in the bay.

The 4905 does have huge bays looks like if you fold down the handle bars 1 or 2 bikes would fit easy
An AGM style battery would be prudent.

I was thinking on doing the same thing with my harley, and a 4903 the cargo bays are 39" tall, but shorter father back so the bike will need to be backed in. I am thinking on putting a piece of steel like you see on some motorcycle trailers that help to hold the bike upright by the tires, by gripping the tires tightly. My plan is to attach this to a sort of drawer like runner on a simple motor, so it will be easy to load and unload. Im thinking at worst you might have to lower the handlebars with this set up?
