Friends, stop what you are doing right now, walk out to your bus and check the miter/gear box to the blowers.
Please make sure it has plenty of oil in it.
My failed on I-75 North last week. :'( The bus is setting at Valdosta. So far, I've spend $2,555.41. and I'm not back on the road yet. :'( :'( :'(
Check it now.....

It takes regular 40 wt oil, right?

I take it that it was leaking oil around the seals before it failed?
Hard to tell when it started leaking. Since it didn't get check on a regular basis.
This MUST be in your routine checks before a trip.

Mine has an oil level sight thingie, which after I cleaned it works quite well to let me check the oil level. I use engine oil in mine.

Also check the air vent in the top to be sure it is "breathing"
If that gets plugged up then the filler plug gets "blown out" when it gets warmed up

Course if you don't have any belts, miter/gear boxes, external blower....
