Title: Parts wanted where to post? Looking for GM 4104 stuff.
Post by: Rick59-4104 on March 09, 2013, 11:04:27 AM
Is it OK to post parts wanted on the bus topic forum or should that be kept on the for sale board?

I am looking for a bay door for my 4104, my thinking is probably not many people look at the for sale board, and maybe someone has an item a member might need  but does not post it for sale unless they know someone is looking......A hard to find wanted item would get the most exposure on the bus topic forum.

Not wanting to ruin anyones sun-is-(was)-shining-and-birds-are-(were)-singing-day by posting in the wrong place. I did check the rules and could not find anything. Found an old thread where some were wanting a WTB forum but looks like it died.

Fine by me, Rick. But then again I am not the decision maker.

I don't see any reason why posting a WTB would be bad. Go for it.

The world of BBS have been evolving...

Hard to find a hobby board without a stuff wanted place, either separate or just throw it out there.

happy coaching!

Ok, I am looking for the bay door second in front of the rear wheel well drivers side, for my 59 GM 4104.  One in good condition would be great. It is the door just in front of the battery compartment. Mine has a pretty healthy dent where the previous owner got too close to a pipe at a fuel island.

I also could use the 2 bottom latches for the battery compartment door.....If anyone can help please PM me with your price plus shipping, my ship to zip is 72601. Would kind of like to have one before Blytheville in April but if someone has one, is going to Blytheville and will does not want to ship I could pick up there...

Mucho Thanks,

Rick

It's quite OK to post for wanted parts. We all need to find something most of the time, so go for it!  ;) If someone doesn't post where it is, it's because he wants it! ;D

Rick -

I know Bernie up near me used to have a few GM 41XX doors available, maybe you can give him a call during the week and see if he still has them and can ship:

And then there's always Luke at US Coach - 1-888-262-2434.

Take care,
Brad

Rick   I think Boomer has a spare 04 setting at Gene Russell's. I think he bought it for the rear end for his silverside,

"which is beautiful "

You make the deal on what you want and I will deliver to Blytheville in April.

Just FYI you 4104 guys looking for parts;  I transferred the 4104 back to Gene for credit after taking the diff out.  He put a low speed diff back in so it is driveable.  He would prefer to take your parts orders off another 4104 here before parting out this one.  He has been real busy so can't get back to you right now, but he will be in Blytheville, so you can talk to him there about what you need.  Thanks,
Mark

I used regular cam tightening latches from my hardware store and/or bungees for bottom latches.

 Uncle Ned,
Thanks for the offer to haul the door to Blytheville, I talked with Gene a couple of weeks ago, he thought he had a good door but did not think he would have time to pull it before Blytheville. Sounds like he is very busy. I may check back with him in a week or so. Are you far from him or do you go by his shop on the way to Blytheville?  If it works out that would be great.....

Yeah Gus, I may end up making up a latch of some kind, but I did get an e-mail from Luke today he said they have some latches so I'll check with him in the next day or so....

Gus are you headed to Blytheville?? your closer than I am.

Thanks Guys
Rick

Rick   I am about 60 miles from Gene but I go by every chance that I get.  A trip to Genes is a busnut's dream.

Not a nicer person and a true bus nut. Must be some distant kin to Luke, both great people.

I am in Lenoir NC. Before China it was the furniture capital of the US.

Uncle Ned,

Next time you visit Gene's, could you see if he remembers any scrapped  4104 serial numbers?  I already have the number for his recently received 04.
