any idea how this was done? i thought there was a conflict connecting a 8v92 to a v730?
any idea what the high speed rear end is?

They conveniently did not show a picture of the engine. I really question that 8V-92 in there. The fastest ratio rear axle for a V drive that I know of is the 4.1. Someone said there was also a 3.55. Even if they had 11R-24.5 tires (476rpm) with the V730 (.88 overdrive), at 2,300rpm (the highest I'd rev a 92 seris) that works out to be 93mph. To go their advertised 110mph the engine would have to turn 2726rpm!

I have seen this one on Craigslist here several times over the past couple of years. I would guess it would be as close to a sports car bus as one will get. Sorry, but I do not know who it was put together. I would wonder whether that engine puts out more torque than the transmission is rated for.
Tom, as far as I know, the 4106 only came with the 4.125 rear axle. With a standard shift (8.08 OD), that means the overall ratio is 3.3333:1. This means that our coach with 12R22.5 rubber tops out at 83 MPH. While the 4107 came with the same ratio, there may have been some options for some of them.
If there was another ratio for the 4106, I would like to know about it.

Gorgeous paint job on that bus. I spoke to the owner of it and considered going to see it when I was bus shopping, but it was a little out of my price range. He owns a couple other buses and is probably correct about what's in it, but I don't know how they did it. He said there were a few other 4106's out there that someone had stuffed an 8v92T in...? If so, wow. I doubt the top speed claim too, but that would be suicide anyways. I wonder if the various components, tranny, diff, etc will survive at that much torque? I'll bet the thing pulls hills like crazy, but better keep an eye on that temp! Has this combo been seen on other 4106's?
If it had an overdrive from the vs2-8 added to the V730, it would easily do that speed, although not with me aboard or driving it.
