Title: Generator Redone
Post by: wagwar on January 29, 2013, 04:28:35 PM
As some of you know, I had to rebuild my generator and the bay as well. So, I decided to write it up in a series of posts to the blog. I posted the first two parts of my generator rebuild. Check it out!

wagwar,
Thanks for sharing your blog. I enjoy learning from others projects. My wife and I both enjoyed reading about your kitties and are sure glad your vet friend recognized the drug overdose situation. I would also be interested in reading about the origin of your unusual name, (wagwar). Keep up  the good work on your projects and your stories.

Good luck, Sam & Char

Wagwar, I also thank you for the pix of the setup, being in the genewrator business for way too long, I have seen the radiator mounted flat before, with the engine & genset sitting on top of it, using a electric fan, blow air down across the core, seems to be working fine.  Glad to see your version.
Always gld to see a Kubota on the small generators.
Cheers

Great looking job. The only drawback to a down facing radiator exhaust is kicking up dust on a dusty or dirt road. Course, you could just turn off the generator for those few times. The great part of the squirrel cage blower is the quietness of it. I have a belt driven squirrel cage blower sucking the air from the radiator into the blower then blowing it out the side of the bus. With the two spd motor, night time use is just about silent. Good Luck, TomC
