Bought the bus almost 3 months ago, didn't bother trying the jake on the way home, immediately started gutting and I'm just curious now. It's in no shape to drive yet, maybe next month...
Obviously it has the hi/lo jake switch but is there any external indicators that would show it is IN FACT installed.
It just creeps in the back of my mind as I'm around it.
Wires going in to valve cover.......HTH....Tim
Are vakve covers about 2.5" or about 6", AND the control wire (1) goes in thru the inside of the block Vee next to the valve cover about 5" from either end of head. Im running out of words, give me a pix.

tall valve covers thats your clue.... :o
Pull one of the valve covers and see if they are installed. Good Luck, TomC
I'm in the pull a valve cover and look camp... Also there would be a switch on the buffer screw, and on an MCI probably a high idle cylinder type switch, pretty big and obvious right there in front of your nose when you open the engine bay door. Now, are the jake's working is another tale... Mine were adjusted so wrong it was comical.

i had the high valve covers and the switch. same question as you since they didn't seem to be working. Finally opened a valve cover and verified no jakes.
boy am i glad i decided to get them tho.
It does have the very tall covers + wires on the inside of the block but I guess I won't know till I open up the covers! Maybe next week.
