Hey Guys
I am in need of a blower motor and cage for my front defrost. Here are a couple of pics of my good one, the other is in really bad shape. I have tried the usual places and have come up short. Any ideas?

If the armature is good you can get the brushes from a good auto electric supplier like Faulkner (Romaine) Electric in Portland, Steve. If it's shot try Mohawk, Kirk's, or MCI. The cage can be hard to get off the shaft, as you probably know. You should put the cage in the blast cabinet and clean and paint it before assembly. Older MCI's used the same motor for the lavatory exhaust fan and the defrosters, pretty common motor but they are 24V.
Can you take and have it re built at an electric motor shop? Just a thought that RJ told me about.

The motor is really shot, someone did a mickey mouse on it many years ago and it is finally dead! To make matters worse the cage is stuck on! I think it is one of the original motor to the coach so it has lived its life for sure.
I wil try those suppliers tomorrow.
I did a bit more digging and found this one, I will have to find a bit more about it tomorrow.

I'd head over to your favorite automotive wrecking yard and start scrounging thru the GMC section.
Take your old blower motor with you, and see which GM product's HVAC blower matches your bolt pattern. Usually on the engine compartment firewall, passenger side, easily accessed.
I pulled one off a mid-'90s Buick awhile back and installed it in a friend's '63 Corvair. Bolted right in.
GM did a lot of this kind of stuff, you should find success for little $$.

Mine was not working so I pulled it out and took it to Vans Electric in Indy. They repaired it, and also rebuilt one of my big main hvac blower motors. My squirrel cage was stuck on too, but I heated the bolt with map gas in a small propane torch and it helped me break it free. You would be surprised what they can fix. Or maybe locate for you.
