Some one was on this idea in the last year. Did you try search above? See you have been here awhile. Welcome aboard. Hopefully they will read and respond. I believe it folded up to a second level.   Bob  PS just put couch in search and it was 2nd item listed.

Most people copy the Mobelform Doc couch you cannot afford to buy ones unless you have deep pockets IKEA sells that type for a lot less money check their store out with a camera they will even furnish the tape measure, pencil and paper

Vulcan coach uses a real simple idea to turn the couches into bunk beds

Jeff -

The GMC Motorhome built between 1973 - 1978 had a couch which the backrest swung up to become the upper bunk.  Used seatbelts clipped to the ceiling for supporting the outer end.

Search for some GMC Motorhome forums to see if you get a response.

FWIW & HTH. . .

I made my own pull out sleeper sofa. I wanted a true 80"x60" queen bed, of which an RV type is not made.  I made a base of 80"x30" with the cushion built into 3/4" plywood. The bottom pulls out with legs and brackets to the 60" position. Then the back is a folding cushion that are two 80"x15" sewn together to fold out and fill in between the wall and the now pulled out base. Works well.

You could do the same thing-except have the two 80"x15" folding back mounted on plywood with two pull out stabilizers to make a hinge up bunk bed. Good Luck, TomC

My first motor home had the bunk setup that Tom just described.

Jeff,

Not sure if this helps you or not, but I just ran across this site and thought of you.  I would actually use these (we have 4 kids) if we were not planning on full-timing in the bus.
