Well we are gettin closed to the rally date, What we need now are those that are comming but did not reserve yet, please at least call and let us know you are coming, yes we have plenty of dry camping space so we won't run out, but we are trying to pre order food and supplies for the rally, we know the economy is slow, but spread the word we need support for this rally or its days could be numbered. It is basicly my wife and I tying this thing together, we put every dollar PLUS back into making it better. We ask for volunteers and get very minor response, our close friends we know are always there for us, , They are our emergency back up. but we need physical help at the rally and in the Begging of door prizes and goodies for the bags, any ideas will always be looked at, My wife and I operate 3 businesses, at the same time and the waiting till last minute is driving her Nuts, We have Been there since the very first Arcadia 13 years ago with Jack and Paula, and will be there till the last, you all decide when that will be, Now dont get me wrong, the rally will be as usual this year, just trying to remind those last minute rally goers to call and update us, pay when you arrive we don't care, just a head count
We'll be there!! No, i haven't registered. But i will be there, i promise.
I also expect to be there, then on to Quartzsite, Az. for the Jan 19-27th.
CU @ Arcadia
Dave
Wish we could make it not this year again lol we will be in Quartzsite for the Eagles,GM and Flx gathering sad but it looks like all the larger rallies are slowly migrating towards smaller more regional rallies because of today's economy no more Bus'n USA it's gone I hope you can keep Arcadia alive
have fun
bill hope you got it by now but we are coming john / lidia from costa rica
We're looking forward to attending as well.. hopefully our registration reached you last week. Sorry for the last minute nature of it.. but that's just the way we roll. :)
Looking forward to seeing everyone!

I hope you can make a go of it. I really enjoyed Bussin' 11, but I can't afford to drive from Minneapolis to Florida and back too often. I still have many years before retirement so I can only be gone for 10 days or so when I do make the trip.
yes we recieved those reservations thank you, And yes we are Bus People we will make it, its just we need help advertising to all your friends, just to remind them if anything, Drive ups always welcome, just trying to keep the caterers on their toes, Bill
Listen here, those who might be thought of as being regulars in Arcadia:
Get onto the communication device of your choice and let Bill and Brenda know you are either on your way, or not, to Arcadia for New Year's!!!
It's the devil estimating food when you aren't sure who is or isn't coming, and that drives up the expenses unnecessarily when we aren't there to eat it and pay for it.
If we all share a good time together over the years in Arcadia, then we also all share in a responsibility to help the organizers to keep the costs under control so that the opportunity to get together continues into the future, no matter how big or small the rally may be due to all of our other commitments or economics.
And, if you need 'em, perhaps speak with them about windshield covers for your coach while you there?
After two years straight, I need to make the 'rounds of family feasts over the holidays this year.
Best wishes for the 2013 episode!

If you are asking us to all recommit to being there, it is my intent to be present at the event, plus I now have two other stops in Florida that have also offered to put up with me.
So count me in, unless a veteran calls and needs to go somewhere, though times are getting tight to accept trips, for now.
Thank you.
My bus will be there, I won't.
Believe my brother is going to drive my bus down on 29Dec. Trying to find out if he is staying for the day or over night.
Will let you know, as soon as I know.
Bill
Ace, you have just as much experience as I do at the Wonderful World of Busnut Online Livestream Internet Transmissions.
Are you interested in a promotion to chief correspondent from best boy?

Costa Rica beer? Hmm
Procrastination is part of human nature. I was involved in putting on a Boy Scout event recently. The registration deadline was a week or so before the event. Over 75% of the event registrations came in on the deadline day or the day before the deadline. The organizers were sweating it out a few days before the deadline.
All water and electric only sites sold out, full hook ups a few still left, always plenty of dry/ generator camping
only 3 regular full hook ups and 3 handicapped full hook ups left, lots of generator spots 24-7 and normal use , keep callin , gonna be a great new years,
bill any way that members of bcm can be listed so we can meet face to face maybe just a note on windshild form. or a meeting at clubhouse ? one day ? just a thought john / lidia

If folks put their bus board handle on their windshield cards and/or on their name tags, that will help.

Ok all hook up sites at the Rally are now taken, This is the first time they have all been taken in years. Thank you all. Fuel up as we have plenty of generator sites still available
I hope I don't sound like a smart @$#, but why don't you put the rally imfo up for new people like myself? I am new to this site and am still looking for my first bus, and have been told to attend the rallys to view the differnt buses and talk with you all about your current and past buses, but can never find imfo on the upcomming rallys?
Here's the website: http://www.arcadiarally.com/ (http://www.arcadiarally.com/)
In Arcadia Florida from December 29 to Jan 1st.
Lots of pictures and other stuff on the site.
Hotels nearby for those without camping gear.

Congrats Bill and Brenda! Good job and we're looking forward to a great rally.
Bill,
My brother will be bring my bus down 29Dec for the day. Will not require hook up, they can run the gen set.
Need the fee for the day please.
Sorry I can't be there in person.
Bill
My bus is for sale
Why are so many people on this site selling their buses? Is it because of the gas prices?
The ebb and flow of any hobby, same with boats, airplanes, artwork, collector cars...
Folks buy, and folks sell.
Add in the demographic, this hobby attracts older folks, many of us reach the point that we can't use or work on the coach as we would like, so off it goes.
Being physically able to do your own maintenance is a big one. Cost of ownership explodes if you have to pay for preventive maintenance or repairs.
Others will, or already have, moved on to build the next one.
Price of fuel is one tipping point, but there are many others.
Fuel is not the only expense, just the most immediate one.

Oh yes, the getting too old and unable to crawl around/under like I did 25 yrs ago made it easier to give up my big toy and go with a store bought Foretravel, I take it back to the factory (Texas) for service as the places that are capable of doing good work on it are very slim to none, now Cummins does the engine, all electronic leaves me in the dust, give me a mechanical DD and I'm happy and an sharp employee does the oil & lube etc.
Oh, the cheapest part of these toys is the fuel, so enjoy ;D
The older you get the less money you need and more is coming in, go figure,
50 years ago was fresh out of Boot Camp (Paris Island) making $78 a month, gasoline $.13 gal during a gas war, anyone remember those ? Been a long hard road, but have won my game.
PTL, Amen
Dave
Have seen more new to hobby lately than leaving. Then you have ones moving to another bus,#4 for me. Last one! It is a cycle and with entry prices low now is attracting new interest. And yes I will hang up keys someday. Bob
Bus ownership if you can do the mechanical work yourself is not all that bad paying 130 bucks a hr for labor is a killer lol Some morning you can start the engine and boom up in smoke on all brand of engines not just a DD you are 2000 miles from home what then.
I have a friend that blew a engine when Valley Power got through with him the final bill was over 50 grand and 19 months later the turbo came apart and went through the engine
Now he has 80 grand in 2 engines a beautiful factory converted Monaco Eagle bus he trying to sell for 100 grand and no takers.
Dave being from Texas I remember the .13 cent gasoline and .11 cent a gal diesel never it was over .25 cents till 1972 we are telling our age here buddy lol
So 197 gal. x .11 a gal is $21.67 WoW how do you time travel !!! So min. wage at .95 per hr = 22 hrs 1972 to fill the tank and now at $10 .50 per hr its 89 hrs in 2012 dave
I think min wage was around a buck 50 in 1972 but no for sure I had a good job then 475.00 a week, company car, credit cards and free insurance which would not buy a tank of fuel now lol
The only reason that my bus is for sale, is that I'm overseas working and have no plans to return anytime soon.
I just don't have a use for it.
Bill
Tell your brother he is more than welcome, daily generator no charge bunless you are staying overnite, then refer to arcadiarally.com for camping options, and rally fees, here is also a link that some of you might be interested in, would be great for mechanical problems or repair help, even conversion phases, here it is,..http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&accessoryId=52006 (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&accessoryId=52006)
Thanks Bill, he'll bring the bus down from Auburndale.
Bill W.
Ok the weatherman lied,(like he even knew) it will be cooler in arcadia for the rally, even cold at night(for florida),But we are indoors. good news is we presently have over 215 door prizes to give away, now with only 92 coaches and a few single rally goers, if you dont win something, means you weren't there for the drawings, still plenty of generator spaces,( never run out), caterers are on stand by waiting to add your name, just call in, pay when you arrive, we need head counts for additional food. See ya all soon. Bill and Brenda arcadiarally.com
Over the past 20+ years of bus get togethers in southern Fl, did have a frost one AM about 12-15 yrs ago. So not a biggie, yes will have to stay longer to warm up. Maybe arrive little early too.
Glad I have the Aqua Hot system.
See ya'll there
Dave M
31 deg last night in Arcadia at Jack's, good snugglin' weather. But 72 deg and sunny all day, sitting outside in shirtsleeves. We'll be getting ready for you all on Christmas day, so when you arrive on the 26th, the party will start and the tours too. We are really looking forward to seeing old friends, modifications, and making new friends.
We can hardly wait!!! See you all soon!! Thanks Bill and Brenda ( or should that be Brenda and Bill ) for carrying this on.
