Title: Eagle I passed in Ohio (pics)
Post by: Scott & Heather on November 19, 2012, 05:03:47 PM
Heather and I saw this sitting on the side of the road and were intrigued. Talked to the guy on the phone for a while about it. Nice coach, he doesn't use it anymore and thinks he can sell it for $13k. Not sure he will get that, but he apparently used it to cart his grand kids and family down to florida for vacation once a year. Wouldn't that require a cdl passenger endorsement? Not a single seat is removed. No interior mods at all. Anyway, I never see eagles just sitting around, so here's some pics.

Now that is interesting as all get out.  Especially for me owning an old bird like that, takes me back a ways.  Thanks for posting all of this, brings a total new meaning to "Eagle Sighting."

I learned to steer clear of em rust buckets, you gotta be a high speed welder to keep up  with those Eagles.  Why I went with the MCI7.

Cliff, I wrote down all the specs on the eagle after I called the guy. How did you know so much about it? Btw, very little rust on that coach. I spent some time poking around it.

Looks like the western Eagles do not have much of a rust / bird poop issue, howsomever, the eagles in my area are certified rust buckets, all the local weld shops laugh when you mention them as they sure had a history during the Trailways Days. One just sitting at a shop rusted and the rear sat on the ground, as good as the skin is, it was not enough to keep it together.
While the MCI is not rust proof, mine must of had a pampered life away from all the mositure and salt as it was nearly rust clear. I'd rather be lucky than good ya know.
We all love our toys dont we ;D

A little rust never hurt nobody....... if you can slow it down a bit.

All good Eagle owners keep at least 3 or 4 sticks ( 20 ft lengths ) of 1 1/2 inch square tubing in their shop. Me I just bought stock in Dillion steel supply !!!
::)  My repower enables me to get at everything from the bogies back, walk straight through !!

Scott we don't call Clifford "YODA" for nothing ya know!

Clifford knows ALL buses but when it comes to EAGLE Wikipedia calls and asks him for info!
There are very few things you will find that Clifford doesn't know something about, but when it comes to EAGLES there is NOTHING he doesn't know !

Besides the name and # on the back told Clifford who it use to belong to and since that's his old stomping grounds it's probably someone he knows personally! :)
