I will take a shot-
Basically, the bus has no value. You are looking for a valuation to you as a trade for a boat. You Don't want a bus, You want want the value of the bus. so the real issue is, "How much allowance do I give for the bus, against the purchase price of the boat?" Best way to find out, Is sell the Bus first... What is the value of the boat, How much time and effort are you willing put into selling the bus, will you convey title to the boat prior to bus sale, (You might find yourself looking for long term moorings for the Bus)
and 2 last thoughts, Get rid of your masters license and get a cdl, That way when the weather is too bad to fish, You can make some side money chartering your new bus until it sells.... ;)
I would also feel bad if you couldn't sell the Bus, So let the owner Know that you will give him 2000 U.S. for it, and will pay you another 25.00 for brokering the deal ... ;D

In your position, I would try to find a bus broker to wholesale it for you. Spike or Jim Michaud may be able to help. It can take a very long time to sell a bus like this, especially in the north as winter approaches.
