Does anyone else here feel like their bus is tilting one way or the other when driving it? It always feels like it is tilting to the right when I first get in and drive.
I measured the headlights on each side and they are within 1/4" or less so I don't hink the bus is really tilted. I'm fairly certain the seat is not tilted.
That is because the road usually has a crown in the center and slopes out to the shoulders for drainage. However sometimes there isn't a crown, the whole road just slopes to one side or the other. In one of the towns i used to live in, the main street/state hiway looked flat but when you walk across it, it is amazing how much of a crown it actually has.
Hi Belfert I use my air bag leveling system well driving to compensate for the off level road . works every time dave
The roads aren't any different when in my car and I don't fell like I'm tilting. I suppose the car is familiar because I drive it most every day. It does seem like I get used to the tilting feeling after driving for a bit.
I thought maybe the suspension was out of adjustment before I measured it.
You are sitting much higher in the bus than you are in the car so the effect is more pronounced.....imagine if you were standing on the roof of the bus while going down the road. ;D
Other things being equal, the angle remains the same regardless of the height of the vehicle. Having said that, the fact that a bus is heavy and has a high centre of gravity probably does exacerbate the actual road angle - in other words, when tilted slightly the bus's own weight will probably cause it to lean further over (compressing the suspension on the 'down' side) to a far greater extent than would happen in a car.

Do the math a 1/4 of a inch in 4 ft for your bus and 6 inches from the crown to edge of the road it does lean
Oh yes...I have this problem too. ahahah! I've always felt that...its the road grade for sure.
You should not drink and drive. :D
This will help---Try not to think about the upcoming election--It will keep you from leaning LEFT or RIGHT!!! ;D :D ;)

Funny, I feel that way traveling west on I 40, Leaning south and your leaning north ??? Maybe take a more central route like I 70, that should shift ya the other way ;D Sorry couldn't resist that one Hee Hee! ;D ;D ;) You haven't been on Willies bus have ya? ;D
Currently leaning NNW

Ya i have always felt like it leans even on known flat pavement. Then go outside and notice it is level.
I think it is an illusion.
At least it leans to the the Right!! har, sorry, political jab ;)
Maybe your seat isn't level? Have you checked that?
John
Yes as a matter of fact I too have felt this way and as said above the road crowns have much to do with it.
Also what makes it more noticeable in the bus is your sitting out in front with no hood and barley a dash to help distort that un-level feeling.
Happens in Big Trucks too. But again much more noticeable in a cab over than a conventional.
;D BK ;D
Put a small level on the dash board when driving and see how much it is off.
Mine tilts to the drivers side when I start out, then when I fill up it tilts the other way :-X Sorry couldnt resist!!!
