I'm heading out tomorrow afternoon for a trip to Reno. Bus is ready to go. Tires checked, Pressure Pro installed, lights checked, brakes checked. Oil changed in the engine and generator. Generator is running fine after repairs. Trailer is fixed after losing a wheel last year. (Hub got really, really hot!) I got an infrared thermometer to checks temps this year.
Sounds like you are going to have a good time!
Good luck on your trip ;)
Mike
I'm not exactly looking forward to 64 hours on the road round trip, but the destination is worth it.
Reno in and on itself is no thrill for me since I don't gamble. However, when I get in my bus I enjoy driving it more than stopping. I should also say I enjoy camping in it and seeing how all my hard work works as designed. I need to go for another trip-- its been a month since the last time I got to use it.

Brian, It looks like your travels will take you north of us. If you happen to get into Northern Colorado you are welcome to stay at the house. We will be leaving for the Branson Rally on the 29th and be gone for two weeks, other than that we will be home. Safe travels.

This is pretty much a non-stop trip both ways. If I was going by myself I would make some stops to see some busnuts.
How many days on the road do you plan each way? Minimum is probably 3 days, but I tend to look for 8 - 10 hours driving per day on a long trip. I tend to take more time with the bus than with a car or truck, since I hate paying for hotel rooms but it's nice to stay in the bus. Do you tend to do truck stops, Walmarts or campgrounds on a straight through trip? I do truck stops, personally. My last trip, both nights I was able to park just off the tarmac and right out of the truck traffic flow, and it was nice and quiet, plus I like the convenience of the store and restaurant in the truck stop. I feel far safer than staying at Walmarts.
Not a silly question I hope, but what do you do in Reno that makes this a must-do destination? I've never been and I honestly never thought of going there.
Brian
I missed you last year when you were looking for help. I was out of town. I'm in Wells if you have problems again.

We are going to a big national rocket launch near Reno in the Black Rock Desert. (A mile or three from the Burning Man site.)
We drive straight through mostly. We have six drivers and bunks to sleep in. We'll probably make one stop to sleep. We've done it this way every year since 2007.
Cool! Take video!
Belfort,
The rocket launches sounds like fun. We're getting to launch five out here. Yep! five missiles in the air at the same time.
Going to be fun.

I am so glad you mentioned where you are going and to what. We live 2 hours away from Reno and only go there if we can drive though it fast. We hate the place and don't gamble either. It was always on our places not to go again list, lol ;D
Van,
This mission will be over the middle of the Pacific Ocean, at night. Not sure they would like me taking pictures, even if I could....
But it will hit the news when it's completed.
It's a little bit of a secret!
Bill
I guess I've really been away from the board for a long time. I didn't see any of the last minute panic posts this year. ::)
Ok Bill, Mums the word! ;D keep the fuses dry until then ok? lol. ;) ;D
Bill we used to be invited down to VB in Santa Maria to watch the bubblers up & outs every so often by my BIL that used run the Min MM program. It was wa cool. Now those were real travelers out to the Island. Loved how they would come straight out of the water and it would boil as they deployed.
Guys, I'm currently out in the middle of the Pacific on the Army ship "Worthy" we are a tracking ship. You can google it. Haven't seen land in days..... This will be the longest I've ever been out. The pays very good, 7 days a week, plus 5 ours a day Sea Pay.
