Title: Insurance
Post by: DaveNCari on September 17, 2012, 01:19:49 PM
So... We just bought a '60 GMC 4104... Who do folks use as an insurance carrier?? Have been having some companies not want to insure it simply because of its year! BTW I am looking for liability only...not collision...

Any ideas?

Dave

If it is a MH conversion Progressive will insure it, they did mine.

If your in a state that has Farm Bureau, give them a call.I just changed over my house bus and my vehicle and saved over a grand a year and the coverage is better.

American Family has mine. I have full coverage and I chose the amount I thought it was worth.

Most any insurance company will insure the bus to be legal to drive down the road. But-Progressive is the only company I know that will insure bus conversions with their full RV insurance.  Be sure to read your contract to see exactly what you're getting-or want to get.  Good Luck, TomC

That's who I have as well, despite swearing I would never use that crappy company again after going through a major claim when an 18-wheeler hit my Porsche 911 ten years or so ago.  They're positively awful, but they're who writes our weird projects.

Cheers, John

Allstate and Farm Bureau have pretty bad reputations, especially Allstate. They really showed their dark side after Katrina.

Consumer Reports always gives them a pretty low score.
