Well, here I am again asking for help on an electronic problem.
As noted in the title, I have a 2000E solar controller that is always showing that the battery is charged and thus is not charging the battery. The red LED in the back is not indicating that the unit is functioning. I have disconnected one leg of the solar input (up to 25 volts) and one leg of the battery (indicates 14 + volts). I am a bit lost as to why I am getting over 14 volts, since the batteries are seeing only 13.3 volts on float. A day or two ago, I checked the battery with no inverter input (battery in 12.4 V range) and the battery circuit voltage was in the 14.0 range as I recall (certainly higher than the actual battery voltage). Again, recall that the battery voltage is measured with one leg disconnected from the controller, so somehow I am getting over 14 volts from the battery side of the system (and not from the controller).
That said, I adjusted the voltage pot to the max setting (manual says that is about 16 volts) and it should have triggered a charge function.
I then set the controller to equalize and the battery voltage was something like 15.4 volts with the connections in place. The sun was low and that was about the panel input voltage. So, that suggests that the unit is not dead.
The manual is pretty basic. The trouble shooting gives almost no options for the no red LED situation.
Any thoughts?

Jim,
I would start by calling Blue Sky. They are pretty responsive.
When I've needed to troubleshoot my unit, I've borrowed a remote, which actually displays the amps going to the batteries. That would at least tell you whether you have an indicator problem or a functional problem.
