After my rebuild of back 4 month recovery. Tomorrow will install last 4 new air brake lines on rear of 45 XLE prevost and will have all new air system in rear.Includes new airbags leveling valves ,norgen valves,brake-valves,cans ,many feet of airline ,and antilock brake censors. Who would have known there would be so much involved in one bus.Forgot all new bushings in drag lengths and stabilizers and tag arms. Sort of my way of saying I'm not just lurking any more but easing back to finishing my project. Hard way to learn systems but when they are destroyed by fire you have no choice. Once air test is complete engine and trans slides in. Real easy to access all lines and valves with them out---just walk in and sit on stool. Bob
Bob,
You're still my hero. Prevost guy and Steam guy. What more could there be?
The Rollag show was fantastic. Have you ever been up to the Baraboo Wisconsin show? We'll probably be there with two full size steamers. One is the 1899 return flue 22hp Minneapolis. Might be worth making the trip next summer?
Fred
Good to be active. Steam show with Andy&1905 Huber-- 16 hp New Huber (steam) October. Looking forward to it & getting bus running. Need to post pictures. Lots of wood in bus is wood we have ran saw mill with steam engine. From oaks to cherry ,poplar, and hard maple. Makes bus project more family involved. Bob
Bob glad to hear your back is well enough that yer at it again!
Missed you at the "get together" but we understand the reason.
;D BK ;D
Baby steps: working on long car rides they are still a challenge. Mike L and his Cummings in MCI came by for a few days so we had a mini-rally. Missed some fine folks! Brakes this morning. Bob
Welcome back, Bob -- glad to hear you are back to one of your passions.
We're still re-finishing your prior project. It's slow as balls! My contractor has gotten totally distracted, so I let him go and am piecing parts of it out myself. Electrical is basically done, and new plumbing will be easy using existing tanks. Interior is redone in hardwood cherry, which needs to be stained and sealed. Granite countertops are templated but not yet cut. Floor is bought but not installed until cabinetry is finished. Diesel genset is ready to slide in and bolt down. Soleus minisplits are all in, but one of them had the digital readout die and the website seller won't return my e-mails. At least it still blows cold -- maybe a get-what-you-pay-for lesson there. Bus can now maintain 70 degrees parked in the sun on a 100+ degree day.
Kind of a "so close but still so far" situation.
Cheers, John
Never done! Good luck. Put in 3 hrs yesterday. Muscles sore ,a little more today. Life is good. Bob
