Just a little frustrated now...what in the world has happeed to tire prices? Trying to source some new tires for my bus (89 Suburban RTS), which currently has 315s on it...haven't been able to get a quote for anything less than $4500 AI for six 'cheapos'...was hoping to pay closer to the $3000-3500 price point...it seems like in the last year or two prices have just gone out of control...
Any assistance on where on the West Coast I should look for a better deal?
TIA
FMCA has the best deal on tires if you are a member check out the Michelin Advantage Program the 315/80 R is under 600 bucks with the federal tax, no sales tax or mounting and balance included at that number
I just bought 8 this the very first time I ever thought the 40 bucks a year it cost me paid off this time lol
good luck
And so how do I actually take advantage of this? Any links? I was planning on signing up for FMCA anyway...

I'm kinda surprised that an RTS needs a tire that big. Do they really weigh that much?
A smaller tire would be quite a bit cheaper.
Maybe one of our resident RTS experts will chime in. ( Geoff? Pete? RJ?)

I run 315-80R 22.5 Firestones on my RTS. The RTS may only be a two axle bus, but the GVW is 36,900lbs. My bus weighs in around 33,000k, so the 315's are a nice riding tire.

Tire prices have doubled in the past couple years. Why? Can you say PETROLEUM?
That's right anything that is petro based has gone thru the roof anytime the price a barrel of oil goes up! (but they don't come back down when the oil price does)
