Title: LillyDale Annual? Bus Rally
Post by: white-eagle on September 07, 2012, 08:42:10 AM
Announcing the First maybe Annual Lilly Dale Rally.  There's 2 of us so far, starting Wednesday nite thru Sunday, 9/16.  No rally fee, potluck only, campfire each nite, bus bull and discussion, great fishing and boating.  Scenic views.  Just pay the camping site fee.  Call me for details.  Or post your questions.  Plenty of room.

lillydale campground is in N. Central TN, about 40 mi north of Cookeville.  We are on Dale Hollow Lake and the campground looks out across a mile of so of lake at KY.
Cost is whatever site you decide on.  with electric and water, $21, lakefront is $24.  if you have a senior pass, it's half off.

PCC, we run this campground and a few bus folks have stopped by in the past and commented its a great place for a rally.  So since i'm here, and another busnut is on the way Wednesday, i thought i'd call it a rally and see if anyone is in the area wants to come.  It's the last weekend we're open this year.

we are planning on running the campground for the Corp of Engineers next year also, so who knows, might be an annual event.

I travel all over the country for disabled veterans, and this year will not be near there, but in future years, if we can, we would plan to make bus rallies into regular stops on our trips.

Thanks for the reply.

I'm close to you, just up in Jamestown. I would love to make this but cant make the date work this time. If you have another one let us know the dates as early in the year as you can and we will try to make it.

Looks like Mr. Vickrey and I will have to enjoy this beautiful scenery ourselves, with our wives around a fall campfire at night.

Uncle Ned, We put John into the same site based on your recommendation.  We wish you had stopped for a couple weeks also.

Dan, you should stop up 4 or 5 times next summer to pick and try out your favorite sites.  ;D ;D

PCC and zukmancdr, stop by anytime and we'll have a small rally.  Always neat to see a bus roll in, and due to the steep hill on the last mile, they do roll pretty well.  hope to see ya'll soon next summer.  We open around May 1.

PS Tell John I said hello and to stop by on his way back to Palmetto cove.

Might have the toad clean by then. could not believe that 2 quarts of leaked detroit oil could make such a mess.
and that is how much it is low after the whole trip.
