Title: Air filters
Post by: 5B Steve on August 26, 2012, 07:43:58 PM
I found a site that sells air filters that are like the brand K N for diesels,Airsep is the name. Has anyone had

any experience with these? Looks like it might be a good filter.

You see the Airsep in the marine world but I never saw those used on high way vehicles Walker makes a lot of high performance filters for the marine world I never was a huge fan JMO

Just like the K&N, the Airseps are washable foam-great for high air flow boat engines that are not near much in the way of dust.  But-they don't work well with big buses and trucks-they allow in too much dust and can cause premature ring failure.  Stick with the good old Donaldson (or similar) paper filter.  With the amount of driving we do, replacing the air filter every other year is not a huge expense.  Good Luck, TomC

Thanks guys for that info. If they had one for our old dinosaurs it might work.

Thanks again!

K&N filters let dust in.  This will also.  If a filter does not fulfill its primary function, why call it a filter at all.

Yup, don't screw around with filtration.

If this crap worked, the big fleets and OEM's would already be there.

Stick to the big names, Donaldson will do for me, and I'll proudly pay what they demand.

happy coaching!
