An excellent little song by a local band, long ago and far away.
The fleet was transitioning between paint schemes in those years, the red and creme giving way to the red, black and white. There was a later still paint update to use white on everything that is gray/silver/bare metal, used to this day.
You may spot a few of those water filled hydraulic bumpers on a few too.
Bill Gerrie might even have been still working out in the eastend when this video was produced.
Interestingly, once again, there is a Spadina bus.
The 77 Spadina bus was replaced with an LRV/streetcar right of way down the centre of this wide avenue 15 years ago this summer, and renamed the 510 Spadina to fit with the Streetcar route numbering system.
However, the streetcars are all off, it's all under construction as we write this to widen the loading platforms for the new LRV cars on order, and replace some worn track components.
So, quite timely!
happy coaching!

Thanks, that was fun!
A bunch of young people singing and dancing in the street and I COULD UNDERSTAND THE WORDS! That doesn't happen these days.
I first saw that a few months ago, and was seriously wondering how they got all those old buses and cars together. Then I realized it was an old video, and that made it a lot easier. The song, editing, etc. really have survived the test of time, fun song and video.
Indeed fun. Any idea of when that was filmed. Sounded like the early era of rap - but you could understand the words as has been said.

They recorded the original in 1986, so it's pretty vintage at this point... The Shuffle Demons were a mainstay Toronto band, and did well internationally. As BW pointed out, there is again a Spadina bus as the LRT is under repair. The Shuffle Demons are still around, are putting out a new album, and in an interesting confluence they got together with the TTC who brought out one of their two retained New Look buses, put it on the temporary route and recorded a new version of the original video - from inside the bus this time! This was shot while the bus was in service, as I understand it, with actual customers getting serenaded inside the bus.
