Title: problems?
Post by: ruthi on August 14, 2012, 10:57:54 AM
Is there something going on with this site? Last couple of days, I have tried to be on here, and everything I click on takes forever to load, or not at all. Not worth the time wasted to wait and wait.

Yep, lots of us are getting pretty frustrated.

I saw a Moose Creek Cabin bus outside Prescott Sat wonder if that was Phil's he is moving to that area and probably is no longer involved with Mikey

MY hat's off to him he kept the board up and running for several years I sure hope this board does not go back to the being the same as the MaK board of the past it was terrible

I can go make myself a cup of coffee, and this site still wont be loaded. Tired of waiting.  :-\

Sometimes websites have problems after all, nothing in the world is perfect. Consider that we don't have to pay to use it. I know it's hard to imagine since the internet as we know it has been around well over a decade but how in the world did we ever get by before it. Now we scream when it takes longer than a minute to load. All a matter of perspective.

I disagree. I did pay to support this site when I purchased a magazine subscription. That's a magazine subscription that hasn't been fulfilled. I also purchased back issues of the magazine. So certainly the site is "included" in what I paid; I would not consider it "free" although it may be that way for others who didn't fork over any money for the magazine.

I am hopeful that the site issues are a temporary blip and not a sign of what is to come...

That's my perspective.

I know how you feel and I am/was a long term subscriber as well. I was however talking about people who don't subsscribe to the magazine or premium side of the site. In other words, you don't have to pay everytime you want to use it.

Greetings all!  Sorry about the delay in my response.   That was indeed our Moose bus outside of Prescott, now in Prescott Valley AZ actually.

I will still be jumping in to take care of the site.  We are still in the process of moving & I'm still trying to keep my day job so there may be a delay from time to time but I will definitely take a look at the slow web pages & try to get things "snappy" again.   :)

Hope this helps!

Phil

PS Bus ran great for the cross country trip - whole family stayed in her for a couple of months.  Buses R Fun!   ;D

More changes.  I'll check this thread throughout the day for any issues.

Thanks all!

In a perfect world everything would be perfect, after the rapture maybe, if you believe in such things.

In the meantime you can open another window and do something else while waiting for the page to load, works on my computer!

Thanks much for keeping the site up and running.   JIm

Welcome to northern AZ. Geoff lives in Chino Valley and I live on the other side of the mountain in Verde Valley.

Thanks Ed,  I will be around for sure.   :)  Going to put in an extra RV (bus) pad as well next to the soon-to-be Moose bus pad.

somewhat erratic loading times as I've been surfing the site this evening.

Sometimes quick, sometimes not.

Thanks for plugging away Phil!

Thanks all,

Yes, I'm watching load times.  & wondering if it is some of the ads which hang, or otherwise take longer & thus slow down the page load.  Not sure at the moment..  feedback welcome!

Best Regards, Phil

I just clicked on the SITE PROBLEMS thread and waited 30 seconds before I finally hit the stop button.  I tried again with same result so I gave up and tried this thread which loaded fine.

Thanks for looking at this Phil.  Any truth to the rumor that MAK switched web hosts?

It does seem to be quicker today, but still somewhat problematic.

As far as I know the web host has not changed.  If I find out differently I will post.  From my Operating System view it still looks the same.  GoDaddy can move things around so I can't vouch for whether they did so.

Thanks for the feedback on the slow threads.  I'm still checking on it.

Best Regards, Phil

still pretty much sucks today. I get tired of waiting for the stupid thing to load so I just go over to BNO.

The speed here has much improved for me today.  I had not even looked at the BNO board for a long time but did today.  The new format is much better.  I disliked the old one.

When I read the name godaddy, that pretty much explains any issues, for me. Not trying to be negative, but godaddy is one of the worst options for hosting, in my opinion.

We have been doing business with the same hosting company (Certified Hosting) for over 6 years and never once had any issues.

Good to see Phil on top of any issues ;)

I am on a wifi with an average download speed of 2.4Mbps and don't seem to have any troubles...FWIW :>).

I would say that 90% to 95% of the time it is fine now, but then I'll click on a thread and it might 30 seconds to load.  Still better on the whole than it had been.
