Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and want to send out a Thank you Dan for info on Silver Eagle VIN locations and showing the numbers listed from back in the day. I just bought a 1990 Eagle Model 15. Silver 6V92TA engine. This nice Lady is called Nichole, and I believe it is a really nice bus. While I was on the way home from Nashville, and when I had a few hours sleep from the trip. I found out that some of the rivets had come loose on the trip home, and I saw some wood that appeared to have been wet at some time or the other. It may have had some new skin added to the drivers side I am not really sure right now, but will know when take the 2 inch strip off this week. I can see that there is a 1/4 inch gap between the sheets and the leak could be there. I plan to fix that issue asap.
It has a greenish putty under the stirp that covers the seam, it is real sticky like glue and said soft so it can move. It appears like chewing gum, it will pull apart and go back together. I hope someone here can tell me what they used to seal the strip that seals it and don't get hard, or hot and leak down the paint job.
My guess is it was something similar to Eternabond tape. Awesome stuff....but super nasty to work with. We used it...no leaks yet ;)
Welcome with the new bus. Would this coach be riveted like my prevost? .I would be on the phone and ask what they used to fix it with and why did they fix it in the first place. If it's been repaired down from several owners you might not know. Good luck and happy busing.

Welcome: need to see if rivets or original of not. Do they have a hole in the middle? There is a reason they came loose. Part of being a bus nut. enjoy the ride! might be as simple as someone used the wrong size rivet or drill bit for hole when replacing siding. One of the Eagle guys will see post and chime in or there is a Eaglesinternational web site. Bob
I don't understand the question Eagles use a black tape between the siding and frame what type siding do you have aluminum, stainless or smooth steel
I think you may have a rust problem with rivets coming loose there should be no hole in the center of the rivets unless somebody used the regular pop rivets
good luck
Thanks for your responses. I did get the strip off the one side, it appears to be the factory siding and aluminum. While pulling the strip off it was a tough job, and after i have seen it I think it is the Etherabond. I also found that when whom ever did the repair just half way did the job. The sheet is one piece from back to front, but they failed to rivet it where the had torn away and just left it with old rivet in the support. It looks like they just put on the Etherabond and put a 2 inch flat stock and only added rivets about every 10 inches. It had 1/8 and 3/16 rivets and some were in the wrong size holes and no wonder it came apart. So I added the right size rivets where they needed to be. I only got about 14 feet done and i seem to be on the right track to make it look good down the side.
I am going to take off the other strips and fix it right and I think everything will be OK after that. As to the rust I think this bus don't really have this problem. This bus has always been in the south for most of the time, and is very solid and very clean on the under side. The only thing i will do soon is to make me up a slobber cans to catch the drips of oil some times and on trips oils up my back door. I will touch up some bad spots in the paint where some corrosion is peaking out under the paint, and again i don't think they primed it right. All in all i think they just prettied it up to sell but i can do it right because i will keep it for a while and use it.
Again Thanks for your replies it sure helps to find out good info when you need it. I will add some photos when I get some things done on it.
