Since our recent purchase of a 41 Flxible, we need to part with our MCI9. The problem is with the current bus economy, do we sell it outright or part it out? Looking to get the most for our money. It's an 84 with a 6V92TA with automatic trans. Starts right up, no smoke and runs strong. Smooth sides, gutted and ready to start a conversion. What to do?????? Kenny
A '41 Flx vrs. a smooth side MC9 that runs good? What are you plans with a bus-- short distances and parades, or something you can jump into and drive a few thousand miles? I have an RTS that will take me anywhere, and I love it to death. Nostaliga without a lot of Jay Leno work is good for short trips only.
41 FLX as our retirement vehicle. Just the two of us. Decided we didn't something big as the 9. Now what to do with it?????? Kenny

Tough choice. selling it outright would be best, but,(there's always a but) in today's economic times, It would have to be priced really right. parting it out is an option if you have the room and you are doing the labor yourself. Even then, is there someplace that will take what's left without charging for it? Look at it this way... you sell the motor, the trans, the tires if good, and a few smaller goodies. What's left? A huge non movable pile of scrap. Will someone come with a large enough rig to haul it off for free? I'd check first.
Factor all this in and I think setting a lower price than any competing buss's for sale would be the way to go. Sad, but true in today's times. I stripped out a bus one time and it was very labor intensive and not at all profitable once all was said and done.
If you were closer I would really want to talk to you about the bus. Good luck. I would sell it out right. If I was going to get rid of it, I would make someone a great deal on it before I let it go to scrape....even if that meant a little less money. Hate to see them die. Take care and wish you luck.

Kenny, can you locate and post the serial numbers or history on the engine? Might help :)
Where exactly do I find the serial numbers on the engine? Kenny
Anyone help me on where to find the engine serial numbers. Thanks Ken

Looking at it from the bumper, the numbers are stamped on the block on the left just below the head, like below the exhaust manifold, and closer to the rear (closer to the bumper).

Thanks, i'll have a look tonight

Post some photos if you can. Your avatar looks like a nice bus with the external update...would make a pretty conversion. Any chance it has a roof raise?
Engine numbers are as follows
