Title: Sheppard steering for 1962 4106
Post by: scheibejn on July 18, 2012, 05:16:16 AM
I need conversion kit for 1962 GMC PD4106-1005 steering.                                                    From the information I have (Coach Information Network – Sheppard Steering Conversion) the Sheppard Power steering was used on GMC models  P8M-4108A and the P8m-4905A. Parts include:

Steering Gear – Sheppard – Model 492-AP-1
Hydraulic Pump – Vickers – Model VTM-27-50-40-15-MJ-L1-14-S4
Reservoir
and most likely a number of other things

If you have these parts or know of someplace I can acquire them, please let me know.

Hello James -

This post might be helpful; you can also reach out to OneLapper (Mark) via private message, he's had some experience not only with the Sheppard unit but replacing the entire front axle of his '64 4106 -
