I have had trouble strapping down vehicles in trailers from the very first time I tried it. It does not matter how tight I strap it down they dance sideways on me. Last year I even broke good ratchet straps because I had them so tight. The little green car is only 2,400 lbs and I still could not keep it from moving.

I have no financial interest in this company at all but they have about anything you could need to haul anything...

I thought this might be of interest to some of you.

This is a picture from their website. I ordered four of these to strap down the car in the trailer. A regular wheel strap would not work because of the low clearance on the car but these are perfect.

Monday we pulled the car in and we strapped it down...

I have pulled the trailer with the car strapped in with these for over 560 miles over some pretty rough interstate and the car has not moved and inch that I can see. It sure looks like I have found a solution.

Looks good. Flat tow ours. What do you call that car, The Green Lizard?

Thank you. I will flat tow in the fall and winter. I will have to install a base plate between now and then. I put it in the trailer during the summer because we haul a tent, 200 chairs and extra sound equipment during the summer.

We had lots of suggestions for names on our blog but the Green Machine will probably win out. That's what total strangers call it when they walk up. I just have to be careful about parking it in the grass because the bugs will eat it. lol

Those systems do work well. I have found that tying down to the axles vice to the body works much better as well.
