Title: OTR air (Pop Off)
Post by: muldoonman on July 03, 2012, 08:02:13 AM
Anyone had there otr air pop off valve dump freon going down road (91 Prevost). Heard a squealing sound midship behind condenser, and air heated up going down the road. Didn't lose it all but low enough it wasn't cold. Outside temp was right at 95 degrees and only been running for about 45 minutes headed home from Gulf. Had it topped off and ran it an hour yesterday to get tires with no problem. Everything checked out with mechanic. Just wondering.

They pop because the high side pressure over charging can cause that it reaches so much pressure and turns loose take it to Prevost and let them charge it lucky for you it popped a little freon vs a 3000 dollar compressor better check the valve most of the time if it pops it will leak
Those systems are touchy with the 134 freon you don't fill it till you see no bubbles been there done that lol

That's what the Guru said also. Ran fine after top off yesterday. No leaks with sniffer.
Thanks.
