Title: Transmission Fluid Questions
Post by: ArtGill on June 09, 2012, 04:02:43 PM
I have an Allison 748 attached to a 6V92TA.  Today I was removing my muffler and had to detach the dip tube from the side of the transmission pit.  I drained a little less than 10 gallons.  Is this about right?  I have had the coach for 12 years and have never replaced the fluid, should I consider replacement?  Is there a test?  By the way my fluid is red and doesn't smell burnt.

You can have your fluid tested where you get your oil tested.I have my oil tested every year and my tranny fluid every other year.
